At Buckskin Mine, mental health is a priority

At Buckskin Mine, safety goes beyond the job. Safety Manager Justin Walker has made Under the Hat part of daily life with toolbox talks, posters, wallet cards and QR codes so anyone can reach help anytime.

“It’s not just for employees,” Walker said. “Our families and loved ones can use it too.”

After facing his own challenges years ago, he knows how much support matters.

“Back then, these resources didn’t exist. Now employees and their families have help right at their fingertips.”

Each month, Justin’s team keeps the message simple: Mental health is safety. When we talk openly and without judgment, we all go home stronger.
